Hacienda Riquelme. Truly gem.

One of the main attractions of Hacienda Riquelme Golf is the countryside environment that surrounds it, made up of olive trees, palm trees, a lot of indigenous flora and the five large lakes that contain many waterfowl. This was key in the design of the course, since many of the trees and shrubs that surrounded the original farm were respected. The course is located in this wonderful enclave, surrounded by trees, has greens with many slopes where your approach strategy will be decisively influenced at the time, if you wish to improve your score. It's a technical course, the fairways are wide and suitable for all abilities of players, but all the holes are defended by bunkers. Undoubtedly one of the most relevant features of this course is that it is fully built (tees, fairways, roughs and greens) with the Pas-palum vaginatum, a variety of grass that allows irrigation with high salinity water, therefore, not requiring too much water resources. Another quality of this type of grass is that it has high resistance to the changes of temperature like the Bermuda grass. From the point of view of the game it is as good as other types of grass, although it requires greater care and maintenance, especially on the greens, something that GNK Golf greenkeepers perform to perfection.

A golf course to remember

Hacienda Riquelme Golf is a real treasure, once you play it you are already thinking about going back. It is a course that you fall in love with, almost all the holes seem obtainable, and we dream of playing to our handicap, but as you advance, you discover that it is, as beautiful and fun, as it is difficult to conquer. The greens of Hacienda Riquelme Golf are wide and many of them are raised, which makes access to them difficult. In addition, all the greens have several levels which allow a very creative placing of the flags. The key is not to reach the green, but to put the ball in the right place to make the minimum number of putts.

Championship golf course

Playing golf at Hacienda Riquelme is a different experience, both because of its topography where the wide fairways with smooth slopes predominate, as well as its lay-out, beautiful but at the same time very demanding. Hacienda Riquelme Golf is a course that opened in June 2008, designed by Nicklaus Design, and where they knew how to take advantage of the land to build an expansive course, Par 72 and a total of 6356 meters, with five large lakes and a number of bunkers, which are the hallmark of this course.
